Many thanks for the support and time and effort afforded to myself and the crew in getting the car sorted. We arrived at the track on Friday a little nervous as there had been a tremendous amount of work done on the car, new brakes, new master cylinders, new set up, new carb and new side shafts. The first practice session, Alan Eve took the car out and came back with a huge smile, all we needed to do was lower the car, the handling and brakes were sorted. I took the car out for the balance of the practice sessions and it was a beauty to drive.


Come the race, I was excited to get in and go. We stuck to our plan of lapping at around 2.04 and I did the first 45 min stint. The car was just getting better and better, or maybe I was getting more seat time. Alan took over after 45 min and was already on the pace  of 2.01.  halfway  into his session he came in with side shat failure. The problem was with the inners that had disintegrated with the heat. It appears that the clamps had come loose thus loosing the grease from the boot and overheating the CV.  We have studied the cause and believe we have a solution to sort this problem out. Will keep you posted!
